A
Day On Board
"A good holiday is one that is spent
among people whose notions of time
are vaguer than yours"
J.B. Priestly
Passengers are cradled in luxury as all staterooms
and suites offer ocean views, sitting area, TV, VCR,
CD player, safe, mini-bar/refrigerator, international
direct-dial phones, bathroom with toiletries, hair
dryer, plush robes, and plenty of closet space. The
library on board stocks an array of international
newspapers, books and games, as well as a multi-media
selection of more than 500 video titles and compact
discs.
|
|
|
All staterooms face seaward and
room service is available 24 hours a day. Hmmm,
a delightful combination of tranquility and technology. |
The question to ask yourself is 'shall I stay, or
shall I play?'. Windstar offers up an intriguing and
interesting mix of shore excursions and complimentary
water sports activities at each destination. Whether
it is exploring the temples and tombs of the ancient
Mayan or Greek civilizations, it is all there for
you to choose and enjoy.
|
Water buffs can enjoy complimentary water-skiing,
windsurfing, snorkeling, kayaking and "banana'
boat rides from the ship's aft Water Sports
Platform.
|
|
 |
Hop onto a zodiac and go shopping ashore. Sunbathe
up on deck. Join a scuba diving excursion or revel
in the delicious pleasure of doing absolutely nothing
at all.
|
|
|
On Windstar the activities are for the taking
.
hmmm, shopping, sunbathing,
snorkeling
.such divine choices to be made!
|
|
|
|
|
|
There are no imposed rules or time
constraints aboard a Windstar cruise. The hours
are flexible and vary daily according to each port
of call. |
There is enough time for everything you want to do
even
if your day starts around noon. Massage and aromatherapy,
shopping on board, a quick workout and sauna, preview
a new video or take the long overdue afternoon nap (yes
please!).
Let's Eat!
.The superb five-star signature cuisine
aboard each ship was created especially for Windstar
by celebrity chefs Joachim Splichal and Jeanne Jones,
and features an abundance of choice meats and fish,
tropical fruit, and fresh and unique flavors found in
local markets
..yum,
yum!
|
Dinner is a casual, uncomplicated evening event.
No pre-assigned dining and certainly no dress
codes (mais oui).
|
|
 |
Dine when and with whom you wish. If you choose to
dine in, don a plush terry robe (hmmm)
and call room service for the evening menu and wine
list.
The Casino is open most afternoons and evenings when
the ship is not in port, and the dealers are happy to
share their tips on winning at poker or blackjack (wish
for aces).
|
|
|
When the day is done, wander back
to your ocean-view stateroom where your bed will
be turned down with a chocolate and a copy of the
next day's activities resting gently on your pillow
.sweet
dreams! |
